Glidewell International Technology Center Announces a Comparative, Hands-On Course Featuring the Six Most Popular Intraoral Scanners
Irvine, California (PRWEB) July 03, 2013 -- The Glidewell International Technology Center, Glidewell Laboratories’ technology-focused continuing dental education center located in Irvine, Calif., is offering a hands-on course for participants to utilize, evaluate and compare the most popular intraoral scanners on the market, including Align Technology Cadent iTero™, Sirona CEREC® BlueCam, D4D Technologies E4D Dentist®, 3M™ True Definition Scanner, 3Shape TRIOS® and IOS Technologies IOS FastScan®. Discover how these digital solutions provide accurate transfer of information from the dental chair to the dental laboratory or chairside mill and contribute to a more efficient dental practice.
This course will feature live patient demonstrations to highlight a completely digital and integrated approach for patient care, resulting in accurate and predictable treatment while reducing chair time and cost. Participants will learn about the advantages of using digital impressions and how digital impressions are processed, the prosthetic solutions that are available for digital impressions, how to scan implant impressions and how digital impressions work with existing technology to improve treatment. Attending this course will equip participants to cut through the marketing “noise” and find the system that is right for their practice, potentially saving them years of frustration.
“The program was excellent and non-biased toward any particular system,” said Dr. Scott Sanderson, a past participant from Madison, Wis., adding that the hands-on was “very beneficial.” Dr. Douglas B. Weber from Lancaster, Calif., another past attendee, said that he “appreciated the ability to review all the scanners at one time.”
This one-day course is offered twice this year on July 12, 2013, at 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. PST and Nov. 8, 2013 at 8:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. PST. Tuition is $399 per attendee. Participants who complete the course will be eligible for 12 hours of continuing education credit through the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) Program Approval for Continuing Education (PACE) program.
Glidewell Laboratories’ Dr. Siamak Abai, director of clinical research and development, and Grant Bullis, director of implant R&D and digital manufacturing, will lead the course. Dr. Abai earned his DDS degree from Columbia University in 2004. After two years in general private practice, he returned to academia and received an MMedSc degree and a certificate in prosthodontics from Harvard University. Bullis has 16 years of experience in dental research and development. He oversees all aspects of CAD/CAM, implant product development and manufacturing for more than 1,000 implant and prosthetic components at the lab.
Participants who are planning to attend the July 12 course are also invited to learn about customized, case-specific solutions for training soft tissue immediately following implant placement by attending the complimentary “Improving Clinical Efficiency and Outcomes with Custom Components and All-in-One Implant Treatment Protocol” course with Glidewell Laboratories’ Dr. Siamak Abai and Tim Torbenson on July 11, 2013, at 5:30 p.m.–7 p.m. PST.
