Michigan Dog Training School Owner Michael Burkey Offers Doggy Day Care
Plymouth, MI (PRWEB) July 04, 2013 -- Michael Burkey, an expert dog trainer and behaviorist who owns Michigan Dog Training, has developed a new service for owners to drop their dogs off for the day for training Day Camp which will transform their behavior.
Serving the Detroit metropolitan area, his specialized headquarters is located close to Interstate 275 and Interstate 96 East for easy access. The optimum training location is just north of the scenic Kellogg Park downtown district in Plymouth. The 4,000-square-foot training facility features a large training room along with a living room and kitchen to stimulate home conditions, in addition to professional offices.
Burkey, a professional dog trainer, is a search and rescue K9 handler and a former K9 police officer and social worker. He also is a board member of the Association of Humane Dog Training, a non-profit organization which promotes the safe and effective training of companion and working dogs.
At Burkey’s newly instituted Day Camp, owners can drop their puppies or adult dogs off in the morning and pick them up in the late afternoon. They will receive the same training as the dogs in the K9 Campers program, which is a board and train program where the dog spends days and nights in his home from one to four weeks and be trained in real-world settings.
During their stay, the dogs receive training that includes socialization with people, supervised play times with other dogs, obedience training and conditioning through jogs in the park or on a professional doggie treadmill. Dog day campers come three times per week for four weeks and then qualify to continue with maintenance training and play times while dog parents are at work.
Burkey also conducts private training sessions and behavioral consultations and trains therapy dogs and offers group dog training in the evenings and on Saturday mornings. His training classes include puppy socialization and basic manners, tracking and nose work. Michigan Dog Trainer also offers canine good citizen classes and even a circus class to teach fun dog tricks.
