Monster Energy Team Racks Up 12 Medals At X Games Munich
(PRWEB) July 02, 2013 -- Monster Energy congratulates its team for yet another amazing performance at X Games Munich 2013 last weekend. In total the team earned an impressive 12 medals across five categories (Skateboarding, BMX, Moto, Mountain Bike, RallyCross) throughout the four-day event in Munich, Germany at the Olympic Park venue.
SKATE
Street League Gold
Chris Cole finally claimed his first Street League Skateboarding tour win and earned a gold medal, where he dominated the concrete course with Bavarian-like structures at X Games Munich. Undoubtedly one of the most technical street skaters in the world, Cole’s win backs up his recent second place victory at the Street League Skateboarding event in Kansas City earlier this month.
Skateboard Vert Silver
Pierre Luc Gagnon (PLG) earned silver in skateboarding Vert, narrowly missing gold in a tight final at X Games Munich. With the exception of his third run PLG was in the lead all the way up until the final run where he was edged out by a score of 90 to his 89.66.
Skateboard Park Bronze
Monster Energy’s Ben Hatchell walked away with a bronze medal after an incredible performance. With his technical mastery and trademark consistency in the best X Games bowl setup to date, Hatchell amazed with his blunt to fakie on the barrel and 540 stale fish in the deep end.
Skate Big Air
Jake Brown was on point during practice, but unfortunately a violent crash over the big-air ramp knocked him unconscious and ended his plan of competing in finals. Brown was game to compete, but X Games safety regulations prevent any athlete from competing after a concussion.
BMX
BMX Park Silver
Scotty Cranmer impressed today in BMX Park at X Games Munich taking a silver medal and earning 82 points next to the winning gold score of 84. It’s the eighth career X Games medal for the 26-year old from New Jersey. Cranmer is the only BMX rider to double medal in BMX Park this year at the X Games stops with his first bronze medal at X Games Barcelona.
MOTO Gold and Silver
Moto X Best Whip
Monster Energy motocross team led the podium with popular Jeremy ‘Twitch’ Stenberg defending his gold from the past two years and took his fourth consecutive gold medal. Teammate Edgar Torronteras took silver following his gold win in his hometown at X Games Barcelona. Best Whip is judged by the fans that vote via Twitter.
Speed & Style Bronze
Nate Adams won a closely contested bronze medal match up as eight of the best riders in FMX battled it out in the X Games Speed & Style competition.
Moto X Enduro Gold
Monster Energy’s Taylor Robert rode to perfection to win Gold in the rescheduled Enduro X on the final day of X Games Munich.
RALLYCROSS
RallyCross 1 (scheduled as a make-up for RallyCross Barcelona) Gold and Silver
British driver and Monster Energy Athlete Liam Doran took gold ahead of his teammate Ken Block who took silver.
RallyCross 2 Silver
Day four of the X Games Munich saw a packed grandstand witness Monster Energy driver Liam Doran grab the silver medal following up his gold medal at RallyCross 1.
MOUNTAIN BIKE
Mountain Bike Slopestyle Gold
New to the Monster Energy team, 20-year old Canadian Brett Rheeder took home gold in the first-ever Mountain Bike Slopestyle event held at X Games Munich.
