Santa Fe, New Mexico (PRWEB) July 16, 2013
On Thursday, August 15th, the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) and Native Peoples Magazine will kick off the 2013 Santa Fe Indian Market weekend with a fashionable Launch Party at the Historic Hilton of Santa Fe. The party, which is free and open to the public, will feature reggae hip hop music and DJ sets by Native superstars Quese IMC, Cempoalli 20, and IndiGenius Shock B, appearances by Native Peoples cover models Ehren Kee Natay and Angel Mills, and a number of VIPs – from artists to collectors to filmmakers. From 8:30 to 11:30 pm at the Historic Hilton of Santa Fe, guests can mingle, dance, and get excited for the most spectacular celebration of Native arts and culture in the world. "The party's going to be boss, Santa Fe's hottest happening for sure," says Razelle Benally, Native filmmaker.
Quese IMC (Pawnee/Seminole) and Cempoalli 20 will fill the room with reggae rap beats with Native inflections, and IndiGenius Shock B (Pawnee/Seminole) will deliver freshly mixed tracks that will get the party started. The three artists place a paramount on honoring their heritage, giving their danceable sounds an indigenous vibe. Matched with an enthusiastic crowd of artists and art lovers, specialty drinks, and the exhilaration of Indian Market itself, the Launch Party is sure to be the ultimate start to a fantastic weekend!
