BOMAG Americas, Inc. announces that Bill Rieken has joined the company as the Road Building Specialist for the Midwest territory. Rieken brings more than 35 years asphalt paving industry experience to BOMAG, strengthening customer support for the company's recently acquired Cedarapids asphalt pavers and material transfer equipment, CMI reclaimer/stabilizers and BOMAG’s existing line of milling equipment. In his new position, Rieken will assist BOMAG field sales through providing training, product demonstrations and machine set-up services for BOMAG’s asphalt paving and rehabilitation equipment.

"To achieve our commitment as being the leading asphalt compaction, paving and rehabilitation equipment supplier in the industry, we will have experienced team members in the field to support our customers," says John Hood, director of sales, heavy equipment for BOMAG Americas, Inc. "Bill brings extensive technical experience and application knowledge and adding him as a Road Building Specialist allows BOMAG to develop a deeper partnership with our customers. He will directly interact with our asphalt customers to assist our existing territory managers and provide product trouble-shooting, on-site machine set-up and technical training."

A mechanical engineer by trade, Rieken has spent the majority of his career in the field as an asphalt paving specialist, assisting customers operating traditional and REMIX Anti-Segregation System pavers, MS series of material transfer devices and the RoadMix paver/MTV recently acquired by BOMAG. He was a product engineer for the original Cedarapids BSF paver series and, in the 1980s, worked in Research and Development for the first Greyhound paver series. Rieken was also involved with the Cedarapids asphalt compaction and milling machine lines.

"I'm excited to continue my active role in the field to help educate customers on proper machine set-up and operation, so they get the most from their equipment, whether labeled as a BOMAG, Cedarapids, CMI or Terex brand," says Rieken. "I sense BOMAG's enthusiasm and renewed energy for the paver and reclaimer/stabilizer lines, and I look forward to helping the company bring these lines back to their rightful market leadership positions."

A Vietnam War veteran, Rieken and his family live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In his off-time, Rieken can be found at the Go-Kart racetrack his family owns in Delaware, Iowa, or at Rieken’s Racing, his family-owned Go-Kart retail and service shop in Marion, Iowa. Karting since he was 14, Rieken is a three-time Grand National Karting champion.
