We're thrilled to offer a Love Blue bracelet in celebration of 1% for the Planet's first ten years and a network that continues to grow and support thousands of causes worldwide.

On July 2, 2013, 1% for the Planet member Pura Vida Bracelets, launched the newest addition to its Charity Collection: the Love Blue bracelet. 50% of all proceeds from the new Love Blue bracelet will go directly towards growing the 1% for the Planet network and can be ordered from the Pura Vida website’s Charity Collection line “Enviro-Causes”.

Pura Vida Bracelets got its start three years ago when co-founders Griffin Thall and Paul Goodman took a post-graduation trip to Costa Rica and met Jorge and Joaquin, two local artisans selling handmade bracelets on the street. Thall and Goodman purchased 400 bracelets, brought them back to a local boutique in California, and found others were inspired by Jorge and Joaquin’s work. Today, each Pura Vida bracelet sold helps provide full-time jobs to over 30 local artisans in Costa Rica, but the co-founders wanted to do more, which is why they created the Charity Collection in an effort to give back to additional organizations.

“Our Charity Giving Program has grown enormously over the last year and we have no intention of slowing down,” says Co-Founder Paul Goodman. “Our goal is to support hundreds of additional organizations and share our cause with the world. We’re thrilled to offer a Love Blue bracelet in celebration of 1% for the Planet’s first ten years and the network that continues to grow and support thousands of causes worldwide.”

Pura Vida’s Charity Collections offer nine different lines, supporting a total of over 150 charities. The Love Blue bracelet will anchor the Enviro-Causes line and be in the company of bracelets giving back to various 1% for the Planet nonprofits as part of their commitment, including: The Surfrider Foundation, Surfaid International, Oceanic Preservation Society, Orangutan International Foundation, American Farmland Trust, Audubon International, and the Alaska Wilderness League. Pura Vida joined 1% for the Planet in 2010 and both their business and giving have grown tremendously in this short time.
