University of Washington Takes First Place in SAE International’s Formula SAE Lincoln
Warrendale, PA (PRWEB) July 05, 2013 -- The University of Washington car placed in the top three in five of the eight events at SAE International’s Formula SAE® competition, including capturing first in both Design and Endurance, landing them in First Place Overall after the four-day weekend in Lincoln, Neb.
Formula SAE aims to give students real-world experience by incorporating each aspect of designing, building, and implementing a successful Formula car. Students must design the car with the knowledge that it will be evaluated as a potential production item, which not only entails the car, but includes the marketing, management and finances that must occur in order to sell a car.

- Overall – University of Washington
- Design – University of Washington
- Presentation – Kettering University
- Cost - Southern Illinoi University – Carbondale
- Acceleration – San Jose State University
- Skidpad – McGill University
- Autocross – Missouri University of Science and Technology
- Endurance – University of Washington
