Universidade Estadual de Campinas Dominates SAE International’s Formula Electric 2013
WARRENDALE, Pa. (PRWEB) July 06, 2013 -- Universidade Estadual de Campinas took first place in nearly every event, finishing First Place Overall at SAE International’s Formula Electric this past weekend in Lincoln, Neb.
SAE Formula Electric aims to test student’s ability to develop a car that is not only fast, but efficient and cost effective. During the four-day event, the cars are examined and tested in Design, Cost, Presentation, Acceleration, Autocross, Skid-pad, and Endurance.
This year, Universidade Estadual de Campinas came out victorious in every event with the exception of the Presentation event, which was won by the University of Washington. The SAE Formula Electric event is much smaller when compared with the highly competitive Formula SAE event, but nevertheless, Universidade Estadual de Campinas proved their commitment and expertise on the track with a commanding performance.
The overall results were as follows:
- 1st Place – Universidade Estadual de Campinas
- 2nd Place – University of Washington
- 3rd Place – University of Kansas-Lawrence
- 4th Place – Ecole Polytechnique De Montreal
- 5th Place – University of Michigan - Dearborn
