The Heirloom Market & Café To Host The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band Live On July 20th
Thomson, IL (PRWEB) July 03, 2013 -- The Heirloom Market & Café may be seated in the small village of Thomson, Illinois (population 600), but they are bringing in a six member band straight out of Goodlettsville, Tennessee. This six member folk band has made several appearances on the famous Grand Ole Opry stage and multiple appearances on the Marty Stewart show and on July 20, 2013 at 6 p.m. they will be hitting the Heirloom Market & Café stage hard with their slapstick humor and old-timey folk music.
According to their official website, The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band “brightens up the stage with rib-tickling old time tunes. Even better, they have an utter lack of self-consciousness (and some might say any sense of decorum). The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band not only knows the music, they wear the costumes, tell corny jokes and even do slapstick gags that throw a cable-TV-numbed audience into hysterics.”
According to Tony Belha with the Heirloom Market & Café, “We are so excited to have such an amazingly talented band coming to play in our venue. We are always looking for great opportunities to give our customers some awesome live music. We saw an opportunity to look outside of the immediate area and reach out to a band who has been dominating the stages near the country music capital of the world, Nashville, Tennessee.”
The Tennessee Mafia Jug Band is made up of six talented members including their lead showman, Leroy Troy. Troy is an extremely accomplished banjo player who started his old time banjo act in the 80s, including the Knoxville World’s Fair in the cast of “Hee Haw.” He has been deemed the “Sultan of Goodlettsville” and he is a true showman in every sense of the word. The band also includes fiddle player, Dan Kelly.
Kelly has won the coveted Grand Masters Fiddle championship in Nashville. He has played with Roy Acuff and the Smoky Mt. Boys. Since Acuff’s passing in 1992, Kelly has played with country music stars like Alan Jackson, Faith Hill, Jessica Simpson, SheDaisy, Clint Black, and many more. He has the ability to make jaws hit the floor when he bursts into a fiddle solo. The combination of the amazing talent of Leroy Troy, Dan Kelly, and the rest of the Tennessee Mafia Jug Band, along with their slapstick humor creates an unbelievable show.
