This new version of PowerMap, with all of the new enhancements, is looking like it will be more popular than ever.

PowerObjects, winner of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM Partner of the Year award for 2012 and 2013, has released an enhanced version of PowerMap, a Dynamics CRM mapping add-on. Originally released in April of 2013, the new PowerMap is now available to download for a free 30-day trial on the PowerObjects website.

“We demoed PowerMap in March at Convergence 2013, before it was completely ready for the public,” says Cecilie Svensgaard, product manager for PowerObjects’ suite of add-ons. “It generated a lot of interest while we were there, so when we released the original version in April, we already knew there was a demand for it. This new version of PowerMap, with all of the new enhancements, is looking like it will be more popular than ever.”

PowerMap allows users to plot the addresses of any entity, including custom entities, on a single map within Microsoft Dynamics CRM. With the new enhancements, users can now map more than one entity or view at a time, with different entities represented by different pins on the map.

Hovering over a pin on the map brings up a pop-up bubble with information about the selected entity. Users can then open the entity record by clicking on the name at the top of the pop-up bubble.

Users can also save map configurations for later, such as map position and zoom level. This makes it easy for users to quickly access information they need.

“A common example of how PowerMap might be used is maximizing logistics when making travel plans,” says Svensgaard. “With PowerMap, you can pull up a view of all your accounts in the area you’re traveling to and then plot those accounts on a map to see where they’re located. With that information, you can see who it makes sense to visit and how to maximize efficiency in travel time to each location.”

More information on the PowerMap add-on is available on the PowerObjects website.
