Hyper-Awareness Platform Voted Top 5 Start-Up at Techweek Chicago
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 05, 2013 -- Chicago-based Start-Up crowdfynd continued its positive momentum after being voted into the "Top Five" of all entrants at Techweek Chicago's LAUNCH competition held at the Merchandise Mart last week. crowdfynd garnered favor with attendees for its revolutionary approach to creating hyper-awareness for user problems, like Lost & Found and Crime & Safety reporting, by offering a unified platform that hooks into user's social media stream. Earning "Top 5" status granted crowdfynd the opportunity to pitch their idea to an impressive judging panel that included renowned Venture Capitalist J.B. Pritzker (New World Ventures), among others. Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, an admitted technophile, was also in attendance.
The success at Techweek Chicago capped off a busy June for the crowdfynd team. The Hyper-Awareness, Hyper-Local Start-Up began the month by partnering with Hailo Chicago in an effort to streamline the company’s returning of lost items to their owners. crowdfynd was next featured on the trendy site UrbanDaddy.com and rounded out the media tour on WGN Radio’s “Petworld” with host Steve Dale. In addition, co-founders Jay Sebben and Pinaki Saha were selected to present crowdfynd at Technori Pitch, an exclusive tech launchpad that has become a proving ground for new Chicago Start-ups.
So, why all the buzz? crowdfynd is a free mobile and web-based application that uses crowdsourced information to completely rethink how we help each other solve problems like Lost & Found reporting or sharing safety concerns with neighbors. Currently available in the iTunes store, crowdfynd provides tools such as geo-tagged maps, photo sharing, direct messaging and monetary rewards to incentivize and coordinate efforts to solve user problems.
“Our goal is to give people a chance to share information through a technology they actually use: their smartphones,” says Pinaki Saha, Co-Founder of crowdfynd. “crowdfynd takes those “Lost” posters and brings them into the 21st Century via an easy-to-use platform. We’re getting a lot of positive feedback, and hope we can continue to add value to people’s lives.”
