Leading tarps and canopy tent supplier Abadak Inc. is expanding the product line to hammocks, fly tarps, cots, tents and various other types of outdoor supplies. The announcement for the expansion comes on the day that the company plans a new headquarters and warehouse in Weir Texas. The company plans to keep its other warehouse in Palmdale, California, to serve as the Western United States distribution hub. The Texas facility will bring 30 jobs to the area, as well as a revenue stream supplied by a retail store. The new product line will be promoted to a younger and active outdoor audience. The hammock fly tarp line will be tailored toward rock climbers and campers.
Abadak founder and CEO Michael Stein said, "Our new hammock and fly tarps line will bring a new and edgy clientele. This is only the beginning of what will be a long line of unique and specialized outdoor gear."
Abadak Inc. will also be a part of a major sponsorship program that will be sponsoring various sports and sporting events like X games and auto races. A subdivision of Abadak, Tarps Plus has already sponsored many racing events in California.
Tarps are used for banners, as well as shade covers at the events. As 2013 shows record heat waves the shade mesh tarps have become high demand at sporting events as well as simple backyard enthusiasts.
The company says it plans to continue to expand in California and the rest of the country due to high demand for the wide range of industries that need tarps, canopies, tents and various types of outdoor gear.
Tarps Plus is also a major supplier for pop-up tents and tarps for the film industry. Last week, Christopher Nolan, director of The Dark Knight and Interstellar which is currently in pre-production, came by the Tarps Plus warehouse and retail store to approve several tarps that will be used in the film.
The Texas expansion will enable the company to offer tarps to hurricane and tornado stricken zones more rapidly with lower shipping costs.
