NTSA, Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus to Jointly Present 8th Annual Capitol Hill Modeling and Simulation Expo on July 10
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) July 05, 2013 -- National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) and the Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus are jointly presenting the 8th annual Capitol Hill Modeling and Simulation Expo, to be held July 10th in the Foyer of the Rayburn Office Building from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm.
A variety of modeling, simulation and virtual reality applications critical to national security, disaster preparedness, law enforcement, healthcare and other key aspects of national welfare will be on display at the expo. The Capitol Hill Expo is the most important modeling and simulation event to take place in the nation's capital.
The Expo provides opportunities for a wide spectrum of modeling and simulation corporations and organizations to highlight breakthrough applications to government, including members of Congress, and other key research, academic and industry representatives. Members of the Congressional Modeling and Simulation Caucus, including Congressman Randy Forbes and Bobby Scott, will open the event with remarks at 10:30 am; the Expo is scheduled to run until 2:00 pm.
Media representatives are cordially invited to attend the Expo free of charge and will be able to interact with the simulations on display. Exhibitor personnel will be on hand to describe and demonstrate their technologies.
Modeling and simulation has become an integral part of an ever-broader range of critical applications, including cyber security training; emergency response and homeland security preparedness; weather forecasting and analysis; a wide variety of clinical and healthcare applications; law enforcement; transportation and infrastructure development; and military and national security training and analysis.
Many of these applications will be on display at the Expo, which will feature hands-on demonstrations of exhibitors' specialties. These include coordination of a citywide response to a natural disaster; performing virtual surgery using state-of-the-art robotics; and participation in police small-arms training. Exhibitors at the Capitol Hill Expo will include many locally-based and regional companies, including:
Command Post Technologies--strategic leadership
Georgia Tech Research Institute--acquisition simulation
GMST, Inc.--multi-simulation technologies
