Car finance experts Car Loan 4U comments on rising new car registrations in the UK
Macclesfield, Cheshire (PRWEB UK) 5 July 2013 -- New car registrations continue to prosper in the UK, after the latest figures showed that they had increased by 10% for the first half of the year, with a total of 1,163,623 units sold.
The figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) revealed that June was the 16th consecutive month that new car sales have risen in the UK, with a 13.4% increase from a year earlier.
For June 2013, a total of almost 215,000 new cars were registered, with the best-selling model the Ford Fiesta, which sold 11,332 units.
Car Loan 4U Director Ryan Dignan, comments:
“It’s great news to hear about the increase in new car registrations in the UK for the first half of the year, with over 1 million new cars sold.
“The biggest growth was in the demand from private buyers which increased by 17.1% this year and that’s played a big part in new car sales across the country continuing to rise.
“Across Europe, we have read about a slump in sales recently, but in this country it’s been extremely positive and the market appears on course to better last year.”
