BRS Media Inc., a diverse and growing media e-commerce firm that helps traditional and interactive media companies build and brand on the power of the Web, today announced that it’s New gTLD (New generic Top-Level Domain) Application to operate the .RADIO top level domain registry has passed the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Initial Evaluation.

BRS Media announced its intent to secure, market and manage the ".RADIO" generic top-level domain (gTLD) over 4 years ago, at the 2009 NAB Show. In April 2012, the company filed an extensive, comprehensive and detailed application for the New Top-Level Domain .RADIO to ICANN’s New gTLD program. On Wednesday, July 3rd 2013, ICANN announced Application ID: 1-994-75477 reviewed by ICANN’s seven evaluation panels, has passed Initial Evaluation (“IE”).

ICANN’s evaluation panels, which consist of independent experts, determined that the application was consistent with the requirements set out in the Applicant Guidebook and have validated that BRS Media's application demonstrates the technical, operational and financial capability to manage a Top-Level Domain Registry.
