Chrysler Agrees to Recall 1.56 Million Jeeps; Preeminent Car Accident Injury Attorney Jeff Nadrich Responds
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- Preeminent car accident lawyer Jeff Nadrich has released a statement after Chrysler Group announced that it will voluntarily recall 1.56 million jeeps, according to a report from USA Today. The automotive giant originally resisted requests from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to recall the jeeps, but Chrysler ultimately agreed when the NHTSA reduced the number of vehicles by more than a million.
Chrysler will recall its 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty SUVs. According to the NHTSA, these vehicles are commonly involved in deadly fires when rear-end collisions occur. Chrysler contends that its jeeps are among the safest vehicles in their class, but will nevertheless take action to restore trailer hitches on those models affected by the recall. USA Today reports that this may reduce the impact of rear-end crashes, thereby minimizing the risk of fire.
Nadrich believes that the recall is a wise move on the part of Chrysler Group, but it may not go far enough. According to Nadrich, “It's unfortunate that this move didn't come sooner, but it's encouraging to see that Chrysler is taking some action in the matter. My biggest concern is that the company thinks it can remedy this very serious problem simply by swapping out a trailer hitch.”
Nadrich is Los Angeles-based personal injury lawyer who specializes in vehicle accidents, as well as legal class actions against auto makers that manufacture cars with demonstrated defects that lead to liability, injury and loss of life.
Nadrich further points out that the terms of this recall may still create some challenges for accident victims in the future. “Chrysler still attests that the vehicles are safe, and the company is not being required to identify any of the recalled vehicles as defective. As a result, if you seek legal action because of an accident, the company can still passionately affirm the safety of its vehicles. That's why it's important for victims to reach out to truly qualified attorneys with a wealth of experience in dealing with vehicle defects.”
