New Galileo Performance Explorer Capabilities Enhance Storage Monitoring for IBM DS3/4/5K Users
Malvern, PA (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- The ATS Group—creator of the cloud-based Galileo Performance Explorer™ performance monitoring tool for server and storage systems—has introduced a series of enhancements that expand the tool’s scope of performance monitoring for IBM® DS3/4/5K storage hardware.
New built-in displays integrate DS3/4/5K hardware configuration and storage capacity data right into Galileo’s user portal, without requiring the user to log into the storage controller/system interface. Configuration data includes hardware attributes, firmware/software revisions, disk configurations, and array layout and sizes. Storage capacity data includes total storage capacity, used capacity, and free capacity.
“These enhanced views are available with all 31 of the Galileo charts that document DS3/4/5K storage performance,” notes Tim Conley, co-founder and principal partner for the ATS Group. “The ability to see performance, configuration, and capacity information all on one screen—without needing to leave the Galileo portal—makes it easier for users to pinpoint performance issues and change strategies as a result.”
A new zoom-in-chart management feature also enables detailed scaling for all Galileo charts. Users are free to specify discrete Y-axis values to eliminate skewed views that might otherwise occur as the result of an exceptional single data point or “edge case.”
Galileo’s infrastructure monitoring options now cover 242 charts and 293 metrics across AIX®, Linux®, and Windows® servers and IBM® SVC, V7000, and DS3/4/5K storage systems. All features are available for user evaluation via a free 30-day trial program available from ATS.
