Dance Academy USA Named Educator of the Year at Co. Dance National Dance Competition
San Jose, CA (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- Dance Academy USA is proud to announce that it was named Educator of the Year at the Co. Dance Nationals competition in Hollywood, California. Out of all of Co. Dance’s past Regional Educator Award recipients, Dance Academy USA was selected for this prestigious honor and was recognized during the Faculty Choice Awards at the 2013 Co. Dance National Finals on July 1st.
Accepting the award on behalf of Dance Academy USA at the Faculty Choice Awards Banquet on the last night of Nationals was DAU Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Jane Carter. Asked about the renowned dance studio’s recognition following the event, Ms. Carter said, “I’m truly humbled to accept this award on behalf of the entire DAU community. The Co. Dance Nationals is the pinnacle of success in our industry and to be recognized by them as Educator of the Year is an honor that is almost indescribable.”
Carter continued, “I accept this award on behalf of the entire Dance Academy USA community because I simply couldn’t have earned this on my own - this honor speaks to the hard work and dedication of our incredible faculty, our tireless staff, and our amazing dancers.”
At Dance Academy USA, Carter has always taught the dancers that great teamwork is the key to successful performances. Winning the Educator of the Year Award is no different. Carter attributes this to the amazing team effort from all of the DAU teachers and staff. “Great teamwork was key to us winning this award. About the company: Dance Academy USA was founded in 1990 by James R. and Jane R. Carter. The business has since expanded in size, becoming the largest dance studio in Northern California with a staff with over 50 employees. Jane Carter is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Human Performance and Fitness and a minor in Nutrition and Food Science. While at San Jose State University, Jane was a member of Spartan Spectrum Dance Team. While in college she was also selected as the Dole Corporation “Ambassador” which allowed her to teach dance in Japan.
