The Massachusetts Albanian Chamber of Commerce Launches in Worcester (MA)
Worcester, MA (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- The Massachusetts Albanian Chamber of Commerce (MALCC) recently held the official launch of the organization with its members in Worcester at Nuovo Restaurant (Worcester, MA). The event was also attended by the head of the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Timothy Murray, and the Director for Membership Development, Mr. Dan Vinton.
Mr. Murray congratulated the Albanian community for its contribution to Massachusetts, especially the Greater Worcester. Additionally, he praised the efforts of the Albanian business community to organize under MALCC.
The event featured as a guest speaker Mr. Peter Christopher of Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Mr. Christopher spoke of his efforts to build bridges between the US and developing countries through an expertise exchange program between WPI and countries such as Albania. He emphasized the importance of organizations such as MALCC in providing professional networks that facilitate such exchanges of experience and expertise.
“We are very excited to have the support the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce, and especially of Lieutenant Governor Timothy Murray, as we take small steps in establishing a strong network of Albanian Business in the Worcester Region,” said Ardian Preci, CEO of MALCC.
Chef Alex Gjonca, of Nuovo Restaurant in Worcester, a founding member of MALCC added: “The Albanian community in Worcester has quickly grown to become a large contributor in the region, both as an economical force and as a voting bloc. MALCC’s long term goal is to be a liaison between the Albanian community and the Worcester business community and local government.”
