ServiceMaster by Singer, Independence Day and Firework Safety
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- Each Fourth of July, thousands of teens and children are injured from playing with fireworks. Two out of five fires reported on this day are started by fireworks causing fire damage. Most of these injuries involve fireworks consumers were permitted to use. A firework as simple as a sparkler that children enjoy during this holiday can burn at temperatures of about 2000 degrees.
Follow safety tips when using fireworks and always use caution. Never allow young children to play with fireworks and never try to re-light or pick up fireworks that have not been lighted fully.
Some other safety tips include keeping a bucket of water or a garden hose handy in case a fire were to ignite. Make sure the fireworks are legal in your area before buying or using them.
The safest way to enjoy fireworks is going to a public display, where only professionals are lighting them off. After the display, don’t let children pick up fireworks left around, they may still be active and dangerous.
