Chesapeake Realty Brings Gold To Baltimore City

Chesapeake Realty Partners announced today that their newest residential real estate property, 1901 South Charles, in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore City, was awarded LEED® Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This is the first wood-framed residential rental community in the City of Baltimore to achieve this distinction.

Chesapeake Realty Partners announced today that their newest residential real estate property, 1901 South Charles, in the Federal Hill neighborhood of Baltimore City, was awarded LEED® Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). This is the first wood-framed residential rental community in the City of Baltimore to achieve this distinction.

“The LEED Gold standard is a very high bar,” said Josh E. Fidler, a principal in Chesapeake Realty Partners. “Credit also goes to Clark Construction, JDavis Architects and our trade contractors.”

LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings. To achieve 1901 South Charles’ LEED gold certification, the owner/developer, designers, contractors, and consultants collaborated to achieve points in the following categories: High Efficiency Heating and Cooling Systems; Energy Efficient Appliances; High Efficiency Hot Water Heating; Energy Efficient Lighting; Indoor Environment Quality; Innovation & Design Process; and Material and Resources.

“As a LEED Gold building, we are energy- and cost-efficient,” said Jon Mayers, President of Chesapeake Realty Partners, the developer of 1901 South Charles. “That translates into real value for our residents.”

Providing easy access to I-95, downtown Baltimore, sports stadiums, restaurants and other recreational amenities, 1901 South Charles is comprised of 193 residential units which offer a variety of floor plans. Property amenities include indoor parking, fitness center, residents’ club, yoga studio, and bicycle storage, among others.
