Forrester Research evaluated the platforms on nearly 60 criteria points across three main categories: current offering, strategy and market presence. The evaluation was conducted through vendor surveys, product demos and customer reference calls. In their findings, Forrester identified several key themes that today’s marketers are looking to address with social depth platforms, which include optimizing websites for exploration in order to influence online and in-store purchases, using social content to boost SEO ranking and featuring user generated content on a website or a microsite to drive user behavior.
