Singles Supper Club Sponsors Dance Party to Benefit Oklahoma Tornado Relief
Palo Alto, California (PRWEB) July 08, 2013 -- Singles Supper Club, a San Francisco Bay Area social events club, will sponsor a dance party to raise funds to help the victims of recent tornadoes in Oklahoma City. The benefit organizer and sponsors aim to raise $10,000 by August 31, 2013 for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief to aid the victims of the May storms that killed dozens of people, displaced thousands, and caused an estimated $2 to 5 billion in damage. American Red Cross has been on the ground since day one and continues to provide resources and support to those in need for months and years ahead.
“Disaster relief resonates with a lot of people,” said Laura Lane, the event coordinator and owner of Singles Supper Club. “I really do appreciate the American Red Cross and what they do for victims of disasters.”
One of the event sponsors, Gary Michels, leading sales training expert, motivational speaker and Co-founder of Southwestern Consulting, is donating coaching services as one of the prizes in the event's silent auction.
“It's so important these days for companies to have a sense of corporate social responsibility to think globally and act locally,” said Gary Michels, host of the weekly nationally syndicated radio talk show, Turn It Up a Notch, where he discusses business strategies and self-help techniques for business professionals. “The most important thing a business can do for its community, is to help others achieve their goals and their dreams.” Mr. Michels discusses corporate social responsibility on this week's show Turn It Up a Notch airs Fridays on the Wall Street Business Radio Network.
A mixer launches the benefit Friday, July 12, at 7 pm at Club Illusions located at 260 S. California Avenue in Palo Alto and features entertainment from vocalist/guitarist Shane Mac. The dance party which features the band Beat Street begins at 8:30 pm. Although a singles organization is organizing the event, it will be attended by adults of all ages – both coupled and single. A minimum donation of $30 is required to attend and guests will have additional opportunity to donate through raffle prize ticket sales and a silent auction.
