Finch’s Beer Company’s Secret Stache Stout Wins Gold at 2013 U.S. Open Beer Championship
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- Finch’s Beer Company’s Secret Stache Stout won a gold medal in the stout category at the United States Open Beer Championship, announced in Atlanta on July 4, 2013. This victory comes on the heels of Finch’s Threadless IPA gold medal win at the World Expo of Beer in May.
The highly-rated Secret Stache Stout first made an appearance as a specialty beer in early 2012 before being added to Finch’s full-time portfolio in November. This robust stout is brewed with vanilla bean and chocolate malts, resulting in a lightly-carbonated and complex flavor.
Taking second place in the stout category was Georgia’s Sweetwater Brewing Co. with their Happy Ending Imperial Stout. Pike Brewing’s Pike 5X Stout won bronze in this category. The U.S. Open of Beer Championship featured over 2,500 beers from around the world and 68 different categories. Judges from the United States, England and Canada decided the results.
