We Fix Now Respond to Introduction of Water Efficiency Label
(PRWEB UK) 9 July 2013 -- The new labelling scheme, that is to be put in place from next summer, will appear on a wide range of products from taps and showers to baths and toilets, reports HVP in the article ‘New Water-Efficiency Label Launched’ on July 4. The scheme helps to aid consumers easily compare bathroom products for their water efficiency, with information available in stores and online.
The labelling scheme follows the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ Water White Paper ‘Water for Life’ that was published in 2011. The paper supported a voluntary water efficiency labelling that looked to help customers choose the most water efficient products. Following the paper’s publication, leading retailers and builders’ merchants set up the Water Using Products Working Group, assisted by the Waste & Resources Action Programme in order to put the labelling scheme in place.
The Environment Minister, Richard Benyon, told HVP that:
“We all have a responsibility to use water wisely so this scheme is great news. Customers will be able to choose bathroom products based on their water efficiency rating, which may help them to save money on water bills and protect this valuable resource for future generations.”
