Leeds, UK (PRWEB UK) 12 July 2013 -- According to Leeds based Good Skin Days, which offers a wide range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments and anti-ageing treatments, approximately one in four clients that visit the clinic for Botox injections are now men.
Botox injections which relax the facial muscles to minimise lines and wrinkles, have soared in popularity in recent years and according to the Independent Healthcare Advisory Service (IHAS), about 200,000 anti-wrinkle injections, such as Botox are carried out in the UK each year.
Chris Gill of Good Skin Days, explains: “A couple of years ago most men wouldn’t have considered Botox injections but attitudes are definitely changing and, over the last 12 months, we’ve seen a big increase in the number of men using Botox.
“You only have to look at the number of male cosmetic products that are now on sale in shops and advertised on television to realise that men are prepared to invest heavily in their looks. We often have men visiting us before job interviews and especially after a divorce as they are keen to achieve a fresh and more youthful appearance and it’s a trend that’s definitely set to continue growing."
Finally, Chris Gill adds: “The number of male celebrities who are publicly using Botox is also helping make Botox mainstream for men, with the likes of Simon Cowell and Gordon Ramsay both openly admitting to being fans of it. However, while non-cosmetic treatments are readily available, very affordable and provide fast results, it’s important that anyone considering a procedure does their homework to find a reputable operator that is registered with the relevant trade bodies and employs fully qualified medical professionals.
“The clinic should also ask the patient exactly what they want to achieve from any procedures and answer any questions clearly. There can also be significant differences in the results of Botox between men and women so patients shouldn’t be afraid to ask about the clinics’ experiences with male clients.”
