Bridges to Contract Opportunities Collaborates with SolarCity
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Bridges to Contract Opportunities (BRIDGES), an industry leader in contract management training, today announced a collaboration with SolarCity, a leading provider of clean energy. BRIDGES connects small businesses that successfully complete its training program with available contract work. BRIDGES will connect small businesses in the Los Angeles area that can subcontract with SolarCity.
Bridges to Contract Opportunities (BRIDGES) program brings minority businesses into the mainstream of contracting through its 8-week, intensive training program. In addition to receiving technical business skills, financial, marketing and other business critical resources often difficult to access, BRIDGES connects real and available contracts with the businesses that successfully complete the training. To date, 41 women and minority owned small businesses have completed the BRIDGES program resulting in more than $10 Million in contract awards. The partnership with SolarCity will allow BRIDGES to further its mission of supporting minority businesses and local job growth by providing graduates with solar installation contracts.
"We are excited to work with SolarCity because the company is committed to domestic job creation," said BRIDGES’ CEO Terrence Payne. "Our graduates will work hand-in-hand to provide high-quality solar installation services to SolarCity in the Los Angeles region."
The contract opportunities will be made available via the Biz Opportunity Xchange to successful BRIDGES graduates beginning August 1, 2013.
FOUNDED IN 2012, BRIDGES is a collaborative training, procurement matching, access to capital and support partnership program designed to bring small and minority businesses into the mainstream of contracting by providing the technical business skills and resources otherwise unavailable and difficult to access.
Bridges to Contract Opportunities builds a connection between development of strong small businesses, creation of jobs, rebuilding of our communities, restoring of our neighborhoods and ultimately the resurgence of cities across the country.
