WomenCertified®, the home of the Women’s Choice Award, has announced its list of America’s Best Nursing Homes for 2013. This award designation is based on robust criteria that include female patient satisfaction measurements as well as clinical excellence considerations.
The announcement of the 2013 America’s Best Nursing Homes is timely given elderly care will become a major issue in the future as the average lifespan increases and larger numbers of older adults require care. Older adults and their family members remain conflicted about long term care facility placement and now their decision can be made easier by knowing the facilities that other women highly recommend.
Nursing homes qualify for this highly selective annual list based on an objective proprietary scoring process. The selection process begins with the 5-star rating system from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services rating three major elements: health inspections, nurse staffing, and quality of care. Weighting was then applied that reflect women’s preferences and priorities. In addition, any facility with serious deficiency reports is eliminated from consideration.
“We are proud of those facilities recognized for taking ownership of their patient experience and creating an environment that offers the best in healthcare services. We congratulate our winning nursing homes for having earned the trust of our country’s most significant consumer group,” said Passi.
America’s Best Nursing Homes, including Harmony Manor Skilled Nursing Facility (Winnemucca, Nevada), and Mount View Care Center (Wausau, Wisconsin) are partnering in the mission of WomenCertified®. They exemplify facilities who meet the toughest standards of excellence set by women. The full list of 172 awarded nursing homes is available at http://www.WomensChoiceAwards.com.
