Recipient of three CMA awards, two Grammy awards and an IBMA award, Tillis said that it is her friendships with people like Dolly Parton, Tony Bennett, Clive Davis and many others that are most treasured. “Those relationships nurture my music,” Tillis explained.
Since having her first single hit the charts in 1990, Tillis has racked up 14 Top Five hits, including the always popular “Maybe It was Memphis.” Tillis also is an accomplished songwriter, whose compositions have been recorded by artists as varied as Chaka Khan, Martina McBride, Highway 101, Juice Newton and Conway Twitty. Named Female Vocalist of the Year by the CMA in 1994, she was the first female country entertainer to star in a Broadway Musical — Smokey Joe’s Café. Tillis was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2000. Her critically acclaimed “It’s All Relative” album allowed her to pay tribute to her beloved father, Mel Tillis. “The Dad Album,” as she affectionately calls it, landed her in the #4 spot of USA Today’s top ten country recordings of 2002.
Since 2006, Tillis has led her own record label, Stellar Cat Records. Her first album under the new label, “Rhinestoned,” received the Critics Choice Award from People Magazine. In 2007 Stellar Cat released Tillis’ first holiday album, “Just in Time for Christmas,” with influences as diverse as Willie Nelson and Nancy Wilson. Currently Tillis is joining Lorrie Morgan to form the Grits and Glamour tour, and their new album Dos Divas will release this summer.
Sponsorships for An Evening with Pam Tillis include event and program recognition, event seating, passes for a private reception, photos and autographed items, and priority parking, depending upon level.
