North Fork Joins Nationwide Car Celebration
North Fork (PRWEB) July 09, 2013 -- The mountain community located at the exact center of California will also be the center of attention for car enthusiasts as the community joins in the national Fourth Annual Collector Car Appreciation Day.
Dozens of classic cars, hot rods and more will be on display throughout the town on Friday, July 12 in downtown North Fork, located in the Sierra National Forest and a short distance from Yosemite National Park. The car show is part of a large, national celebration honoring the collector car industry and the millions of hobbyists it supports.
In addition to the show cars, there will be live music at each of the town’s restaurants, which will also be offering $2 drink specials.
“The concept of this event is folks can park once in town and then walk from end to end checking out the classic cars parked on Main Street while listening to live music at each of the eateries along the way,” said Scott Marsh, head of the North Fork Chamber of Commerce.
“It's an awesome opportunity to walk through a classic American small town, with all its charm. You are going to hear some original music, try some local foods and see some beautiful classic cars and bikes. Who knows, you may find yourself wanting to move here and open shop,” he said.
Marsh said the event showcases the civic pride held by the town’s residents and business community as numerous businesses are coming together to create this event that will help promote the community.
The event, presented by the North Fork Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center, is free to the public. It starts at 5 pm and runs until 8 pm.
