Fertility Practice Hosts Support Group for Single Women Considering Parenthood
Norwalk, CT (PRWEB) July 11, 2013 -- On Tuesday, July 23 from 6 – 7:30 p.m., Reproductive Medicine Associates of Connecticut (RMACT) will host a group discussion and social gathering for single women interested in parenthood. Facilitated by RMACT’s psychologist Lisa Tuttle, PhD, the support group may include topics such as choosing a sperm donor; talking to friends, family, and co-workers; creating a strong support system; how to talk with your child(ren) about donor conception.
“Over the past several years, especially now that egg freezing technology has greatly improved, we have seen increased interest from single women who want to start a family,” says Dr. Lisa Tuttle, a clinical psychologist with over 17 years of experience helping fertility patients. “Our RMACT Team wants to support and empower these women by educating them about the medical and psychosocial aspects of using a sperm donor.”
The discussion will give women a chance to meet other like-minded women, and to talk about the decisions related to being a single mother. It is also a chance to voice their anxieties and excitement, and to find support from others in a similar situation.
