NASDAQ, Hertz, Ingersoll Rand, OSIsoft & Other Corporate Giants Join the AGRION Forum to Address Big Data’s Influence on Sustainability Programs
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- In an effort to reduce carbon footprint and energy waste, improve operational efficiency, and cut costs, many of the world’s most influential companies across a variety of industries are factoring sustainability considerations into core business functions. Sustainability metrics are converging with the Big Data movement to provide managers with real-time information about their operations. Managing all of this information is a challenge, and organizations have different strategies for tackling the job.
“We are gathering an unprecedented amount of data. This glut of information is providing companies with fresh insights into the efficacy of their sustainability programs and sheds new light on the resource efficiency impacts corporate value chains are and should be making,” notes Nicholas J. Davis, Managing Director of AGRION Americas. Corporate sustainability departments often have budget constraints and lack the resources to adequately analyze this wealth of information.
As result of these sustainability and data imperatives, leading organizations have had to rethink corporate governance structures, redefine and expand roles and responsibilities of middle management to leverage data availability, and adapt to a new paradigm where metrics are more readily updated and available. Adjusting to this shifting business model can be a challenge, and AGRION’s roundtable will address it in a few weeks.
AGRION will assemble the global thought leaders in CSR and Sustainability for a conversation around implementing best practices across their industry verticals. On July 25th, AGRION will convene professionals from Hertz, CA Technologies, NASDAQ OMX, OSIsoft, Ingersoll Rand, and many more for a roundtable discussion in New York City.
