3D Printer Marketplace MakerShop.co Offers Flexibility to Designers
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- Online 3D printer marketplace MakerShop.co lets 3D printer designers set up shops to monetize their designs. Now designers can setup subscription-based shops for a small monthly fee that let them customize many of the shop pages by adding videos, donate buttons or special graphics through the HTML embedding feature.
MakerShop.co is unique in that it lets 3D printer designers offer a richer experience for shop goers than other platforms through its content flexibility. The basic shop can be started for free and also allows embedding videos or other content in some parts of the layout, but in fewer locations.
The website crossed the 5000th download mark earlier in June as fans flocked to extraordinary designer Fantasygraph's 3D printer designs. The owner of the Fantasygraph shop said about MakerShop.co, "For a long time, I tried to find a good website to run my own 'Web shop' for my 3d printing product. As soon as I found MakerShop, I knew that I had found my place. The interface was neat and professional, and the opening of my web shop was free and was made in ten minutes without a problem."
By letting designers embed video, MakerShop.co is expecting users to make better and more personal connection with their fans. Michael Spivey, SpiveyWorks CEO says "People want to know who the designer is when they create great work. 3D printing the work of a person is one dimension of connection and video is an additional way for designers to differentiate themselves in a growing marketplace for 3D printable models."
Michael created the MakerShop.co website earlier in 2013 because he could see a time when "things" go viral. This is the world of 3D printing, when a kid in one country can design something great on the weekend and by the next weekend have thousands or tens of thousands of downloads of the design with people printing it out around the world.
SpiveyWorks Corporation is a small business based in Charlotte, NC that designs apps to empower individuals in their daily lives on whatever device they happen to be using.
