Michell’s MDM300 Portable Hygrometer, A Critical Factor in Maintaining Medical Air Safety
Rowley, MA (PRWEB) July 10, 2013 -- Michell Instruments, a world class manufacturer of sensing equipment, is providing peace of mind to hospitals across the globe. The MDM300 portable dew-point hygrometer takes quick, reliable and accurate moisture measurements in compressed air systems used for surgical instruments and breathing air, helping keep air quality at its best.
To remove the risk of bacterial growth, it is vital to keep medical compressed air at a dew-point temperature lower than negative 46°C. Spot checks at critical points in the system with the Michell MDM300 portable hygrometer will ensure moisture levels in the compressed air is at, or below, this dew-point temperature.
Each MDM300 Portable Hygrometer undergoes a 13 point calibration over 10 days in Michell’s ISO 17025 accredited laboratory before leaving the factory. For extra assurance of accuracy, all calibrations are traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the key measurement standards authority in the USA.
The MDM300 is capable of taking measurements at line pressure with a sampling kit known simply as a Medical Air Kit. This allows the instrument to connect directly to the bulkhead system with a standard 3/8” NGS probe. Because the MDM300 needs very little waiting time between measurements, even to very low dew points, a large number of spot checks can be carried out each day. The instrument is easy to use, with an intuitive interface and a minimum of training. The MDM300 Portable Hygrometer reports to ±1°C accuracy down to negative 60°C dew point, giving increased confidence in the safety of the compressed air system.
