VRI Partners with Community Health Network to Provide Expanded Medical Alarm Services
Dayton, OH (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- It’s estimated that 90% of elderly adults who don’t receive help within 12 hours of a critical fall in their home will be admitted into a long term care facility after being released from the hospital. One in three adults age 65 and over will fall each year. Among older adults, falls are the leading cause of injury and/or death.
Because of these risks, Community Health Network set out to develop an all-encompassing branded emergency response program with services that included, digital, cellular and mobile Personal Response Systems (or PERS) called Community Care Alert.
Thanks to advances in mobile technology over the past five years, the new devices are small, affordable and proven. These devices are two-way communicators between the member, who wears the device around the neck or on the wrist, and the VRI call center. When a member presses the button, a VRI staff member will come over the device and speak with the client directly, getting them the help they need in an emergency situation.
“This is a fantastic partner for us to have in Central Indiana,” VRI’s Chief Executive Chris Hendriksen stated. “The two organizations have very aligned missions and values. It is a great fit.”
VRI is providing the monitoring through its call center located in Franklin, Ohio. VRI currently serves members throughout the United States. Its location, facilities and unsurpassed customer service were a direct fit for the Community Health Network partnership.
The Community Health Network Care Alert program has home installation representatives all over the metro area and hopes to help hundreds of people live independently at home. For more information call 317-621-4626, or to sign-up for the program, call toll-free 855-874-8560.
