AUSTIN, TX (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- OnRamp, a leading data center operations company headquartered in Austin, Texas, announced today that Account Executive Craig Parker has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Health Information Management Systems Society’s (HIMSS) Austin Chapter. Parker was elected as Secretary for the 2013-2014 term which began on July 1st of this year. Serving as a trusted advisor on the board, Parker will leverage his years of experience in the IT industry and knowledge of the HIPAA privacy and security rules to advise and educate member companies dealing with the management of electronic protected health information and the challenges associated with ensuring the confidentiality, availability and integrity of that information. Parker will also act as a business liaison to connect the greater HIMSS community members with his network of peers.
The mission of HIMSS is “to lead change in the healthcare information and management systems field through knowledge sharing, advocacy, collaboration, innovation, and community affiliations.” Austin’s HIMSS Chapter was established in September of 2004 to promote this mission and unite Austin’s leading healthcare professionals from a variety of backgrounds.
