(PRWEB) July 11, 2013 -- MomDoc Women for Women, OB/GYN clinics in the Phoenix and metropolitan areas, will be hosting the Birthing Unity Maternity Program for prospective parents. When a couple begins the BUMP program, generally around the 4th month of pregnancy, they are placed among couples with similar due dates. This naturally creates understanding and support between couples, since every couple is experiencing the same timeline of pregnancy. Often, couples become friends during the group, and continue their relationship long after.
At each session, the couples gather with a medical provider who leads the group. Each patient will have a moment “one on one” where they get to check the baby’s heartbeat, take belly measurements from mom, and see the baby’s position. Then, moms practice self-care by checking and recording their own weight and blood pressure. Furthermore, many interesting and educational topics concerning pregnancy are discussed, as well as personal experiences between couples.
Nanette Cambra, Office Supervisor for MomDoc Women for Women, commented on BUMP stating, “Seeing how the BUMP Group works versus an individual regular OB appointment is truly an eye opener. I think the most beneficial aspect couples gain from going this route is the bond that is formed between them, their babies and the other couples.”
MomDoc Women for Women are well renowned in the medical community in the Phoenix and metropolitan areas, and provide an array of OB/GYN services. For more information visit http://momdocwomenforwomen.com.
