Boise, Idaho (PRWEB) July 12, 2013 -- Karen Bostick, creator and founder of PetsPage, a social community for pets and pet lovers, with a primary mission to make pet owners aware of a higher level of veterinary care in the form of veterinary specialists that few pet owners know exist, and that can quite literally save pets’ lives, is excited to announce the appointment of Amanda Coonts as Social Pet Expert.
Amanda is responsible for many aspects of social media marketing at PetsPage.com. She will also act as a liaison to PetsPage members, assuring their active participation in the PetsPage social community.
“I am extremely excited to be a part of PetsPage, spreading happiness throughout the world one pet at a time. I am grateful for the opportunity and committed to helping Karen succeed in sharing her message with other pet owners on how they can become their pet’s best advocate when it comes to their pet’s health through her original and innovative creation of PetsPage.com,” said Coonts.
Amanda comes to PetsPage after several years as a pre-school teacher at the Treasure Valley YMCA. Amanda also spent a year as a Missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ in Merida, Venezuela. She worked to set up an ongoing Christian Ministry at The University of Los Andes. Amanda holds a degree in Elementary Education from University of Idaho.
Coonts is passionate about helping the homeless, specifically families and children. Amanda is excited to be spearheading a project called The Home- Family Unity Center, a day shelter for homeless families with children in Boise, Idaho. In her off time, Coonts loves to travel and encourages everyone to explore our world. Amanda lives in Boise with her pet rabbit, May, which she has affectionately nicknamed, Mabel.
“Amanda brings the same dedication and commitment she has for her community and others around the world to helping us fulfill our mission at PetsPage. Her social media skillset is unmatched, making her a tremendous asset to the PetsPage team. I am excited to have Amanda on board,” said Bostick.
About PetsPage.com
PetsPage.com was created and founded by Karen Bostick with a mission to make pet owners aware of a higher level of veterinary care that can often save pets' lives when all else fails. This higher level of veterinary care comes in the form of veterinary specialists, which most pet owners don’t know exist. These veterinary specialists can literally save a pet’s life when a primary veterinarian is stumped or does not have the expertise or experience to treat a dangerous life threatening illness.
PetsPage.com’s creator, Karen, knows this from personal experience. Her little dog Tinks almost died of a serious auto-immune disease. It took a veterinary internist to save Tinks' life. As the daughter of a veterinarian, even Bostick did not know of veterinary specialists and the life-saving treatments for pets they can provide. When it comes to pets’ health, Karen believes pet owners need to become their pet's advocate and aware of all the treatment options that are available for their pet today. Wanting to share that message with pet owners everywhere, Karen created PetsPage.com.
PetsPage is not however, just a dry pet health education website. In fact, it’s anything but! PetsPage.com is an engaging social community designed to connect pet lovers with other pet lovers as well as veterinary specialists, other pet professionals and pet products in a fun, friendly and interactive way! PetsPage.com is in its final week of beta launch and the website will officially launch on July 15th, 2013.
During the development process of PetsPage.com, Bostick turned her beloved little Tinks into a social super star with her facebook pages - Karen Bostick & Tinks, We Love Tinks, and MyPetAdvocate.org, which collectively have over 135k likes and growing.
Prior to founding PetsPage, Karen Bostick was the President/Co-Founder of Blackwell King, a veterinary recruiting firm that specializes in the placement of veterinary specialists with veterinary specialty and emergency hospitals all over the world. During her tenure at Blackwell King, Karen visited many veterinary specialty hospitals and attended numerous specialized conventions. She quickly realized she was not alone in her lack of awareness about veterinary specialty medicine and decided she must do something to educate fellow pet owners. Karen left Blackwell King in early 2013 to begin creating her vision of connecting pet owners with veterinary specialists, and she’s really had fun creating new ways to incorporate more social features to attract pet owners to this important information.
