Krasno, Krasno & Onwudinjo Partner Becomes the Only Former or Current Workers’ Compensation Judge in Pennsylvania Named Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law
(PRWEB) July 15, 2013 -- Krasno, Krasno & Onwudinjo is pleased to announce that the Honorable Geoffrey Dlin, a retired Workers’ Compensation judge with 15 years’ experience and current partner with the Philadelphia-based law firm, is a member of the first group of Pennsylvania lawyers certified by the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Workers' Compensation Law Section as specialists in the practice of workers' compensation law.
Mr. Dlin is one of only 149 lawyers who passed the workers' compensation law certification exam earlier this year and the only former or current Workers’ Compensation judge in the state to earn this certification.
“I am proud to have earned this designation,” Mr. Dlin said. “It was important to me not only as a former Workers’ Compensation judge but also as an attorney whose sole focus is representing injured workers.”
As a judge, Mr. Dlin decided thousands of contested workers' compensation cases and frequently taught other lawyers, judges and private organizations about workers' compensation matters. Today his entire focus is representing injured workers.
In 2012, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court approved a recommendation of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Review and Certifying Board to grant accreditation to the PBA Workers' Compensation Law Section as a certifying organization in the area of workers' compensation law. With the Supreme Court's order, the PBA Workers' Compensation Law Section became the first bar association entity in Pennsylvania to receive approval as a certifying organization.

"Certification is going to give those in need of legal services in the workers' compensation field valuable guidance when seeking counsel, and it's going to offer legal practitioners the ability to highlight their knowledge and expertise."
The certification exam focused on familiar portions of workers' compensation law and rules, as well as leading case law. A lawyer successfully completing the exam is certified for five years.
