No Limits Software Announces the Release of Version 2.5 of Their RaMP DCIM Solution
St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) July 15, 2013 -- No Limits Software announces the release of version 2.5 of their RaMP DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) solution with the following new features:
• Visual workflow to allow users to quickly create workflows by dragging and dropping tasks
• New executive summaries at the location and logical group levels
• Ability to do “what if” scenarios while reserving space for equipment
• Advanced search actions to allow users to perform actions on multiple assets simultaneously
• Support for IP cameras
• Enhanced support for Linux/Unix auto-discovery
• Performance enhancements to make the discovery process even faster
Version 2.5 adds to the impressive list of features already available in the RaMP DCIM solution from No Limits Software.
The RaMP v2.5 visual workflow is state of the art, allowing administrators to quickly create workflows by dragging and dropping tasks, defining the flow of work in an intuitive way to clearly visualize how the tasks are laid out. Users can create templates for standard tasks and workflows to make the process even easier.
New executive summaries at the location and logical group levels allow executives to quickly assess the state of data center resources, including space, power, cooling, and network resources. RaMP allows users to group assets into logical groups of their own choosing – customer, department, functionality, zone, row, or any other grouping – to allow them to view usage and resources of any group of assets.
When a user reserves space for new assets, RaMP v2.5 will evaluate the impact to space, power, and cooling, warning you of potential issues with insufficient infrastructure resources to support the new assets. When reserving a device, users can elect to automatically schedule a workflow for installing the device at a later date.
RaMP v2.5 allows users to perform simultaneous actions on a group of selected assets. For example, a user could set an end of life date for a set of servers, or set the service contract start and end dates for a group of rack PDUs covered under the same service contract.
Version 2.5 of RaMP provides support for IP cameras. To see the camera view, simply click on the camera from the visual data center view, the hierarchy view, or the device view.
The RaMP DCIM solution improves on its auto-discovery capabilities by providing enhanced support for Linux and Unix servers and significant performance enhancements make the discovery process even faster.
The RaMP DCIM solution provides the following benefits:
• Auto-discovery of detailed device information
• Power and environmental monitoring down to the device level
• Server monitoring to identify servers which should be retired, virtualized or consolidated
• Software and operating system license management
• Automated change control to reduce MTTR and increase availability
• Web services API for integration with other systems
• PUE, DCiE and CADE energy management calculations
• Accurate capacity planning data to reduce stranded power and shutdown risks
• Device type roll-up views for an easy way to quickly compare device performance
• Enhanced rack views (front and rear views, device type, status, power usage, temperature)
• Visual workflow and task management
