Random Acts of Email Are Not Illegal Insists Sellingly Inc., But They May Steal Your Heart
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- A newly launched app is generating a lot of emails, but recipients and ISPs aren't complaining. Random Acts of Email, a quirky app that helps users randomly select a recipient and then generate a thoughtful message, has already helped thousands share memories and express themselves to love ones.
"I've always felt that e-mail gets a bad rap," says Art Harrison, creator of Random Acts of Email. "Think about the last time you got an unexpected e-mail from an old friend or colleague. There's something thrilling about the entire experience; from seeing a familiar name in the sender field to reading about what they've been up to. That's the point of Random Acts of Email – to encourage everyone to take a moment and reconnect with the people they care about."
The app selects a random recipient from a predefined list that includes people such as parents, siblings and friends. Next, users are prompted to answer three questions. Once all three questions are completed, the email is drafted and can be sent through the user's own email address. Users can also share generated messages with friends and family on Facebook or Twitter.
"The 'science' behind the app is more than mere random acts of kindness," says Harrison who's also the founder of Sellingly, an e-mail application that helps sales reps remember to follow-up with their leads. "In the sales world, it's a well known fact that 80 percent of all sales happen between the fifth and 12th contact, yet very few people actually follow-up with their leads more than twice. When I saw how far a well timed e-mail could go towards developing a sales relationship, I knew I had to create something that gave the same power to the rest of the world. With Random Acts of Email, I feel like I've done my part to make it a little more exciting for people to check their inbox."
According to Harrison, there have already been thousands of acts committed since the launch of the app and there's no sign of things slowing down.
