Remember The Miners, Little General Stores Announce 2nd Annual Tribute Golf Classic
(PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Following the overwhelming success of last year’s event, Remember The Miners announces the the Second Annual Tribute Golf Classic presented by Little General Stores, to be held August 12th at Glade Springs Resort in Beckley, WV.
The event will feature Remember The Miners Honorary Chairman Coach Bob Huggins and other special coaching friends, including South Carolina’s Frank Martin and Fairmont State’s Jerrod Calhoun. An official announcement will follow announcing all special guests.
The golf tournament is one of Remember The Miners’ signature events, and benefits the work of Remember The Miners, including the prestigious Remember The Miners Scholars Program. The Scholars Program was created in 2011 to provide scholastic support to miners, dependents of miners, and students pursuing higher education in the mining industry.
“Little General Stores has been proud to support the work of Remember The Miners. Our business operates extensively in West Virginia’s coal communities and we want people in our communities to know that we care and wholeheartedly support the men and women of the mining industry. We hope many people will join us on August 12 in Beckley,” said Greg Darby, president of the Beckley-based Little General Stores.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Coach Huggins and supporters of Remember The Miners to this event to relax and enjoy all that West Virginia has to offer in great resorts, great communities, and great grassroots efforts, all while raising money to tell the story of West Virginia’s miners and to help educate the next generation of coal miners and professionals in the coal industry,” stated Jason Parsons, President of Remember The Miners.
