Music News: Jonathon “Boogie” Long Belts it Out at Blues Fest 2012
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- As far as one can tell from judging by this video clip of Jonathon Boogie Long’s recent performance at Blues Fest 2012, the blues are alive and well. In fact, among the many marvelous musicians that played the event which took place in Baton Rouge, Mr. Long was likely considered one of the spotlight stealers by many of the lucky onlookers. Although that’s really no big surprise, as he was recently crowned the “King of the Blues” in a 2011 national contest held by Guitar Center.
For those who have not yet heard of him, Jonathon “Boogie” Long is an up and coming American artist who actually hails from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is gaining notoriety for playing the blues like nobody’s business. Boogie’s been performing live since he was 13, so he certainly knows how to put on a show. Also, it should be noted that the footage contained herein is simply a sample of the serious “delta style” damage he can do with his trusty sidekick six-string.
In addition to being a busy performer, Mr. Long also likes to share blues guitar licks and other tricks via his blues guitar lessons that can be found on the website called Guitar Control.com. They’re an online musical instruction company that offers free lessons and low cost DVDs featuring various instructors who are proficient in specific styles of music, including Jonathon who is assisting in the blues department. In fact, in early 2013, the company released a Jonathon Boogie Long DVD entitled Boogie Blues Magic, which entails in-depth lessons along with essential information on blues guitar technique.
So, for those that were wondering if the blues were still breathing, this clip should serve as a confirmation that everything is currently cool in that category of music.
