Cosentry Doubles Capacity in Midwest Premier Data Center
Omaha, NE (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Cosentry, the trusted leader in Midwest data center services, announced today the expansion of Cosentry’s Midlands Data Center located in Omaha, Nebraska. The expansion is due to the increased demand for the secure and highly reliable facility, which serves clients seeking the premier facility for colocation and network services in the Midwest. The data center will be effectively doubled in size, which will include space for over 250 new cabinets with the capacity to support up to 12,000 watts per cabinet.
“Cosentry set out to build the most resilient data center in Nebraska and the broader Midwest by offering a combination of the highest level of critical infrastructure redundancy, along with ensuring the center can withstand the most severe weather conditions,” said Kevin Dohrmann, Chief Technical Officer with Cosentry. ”Our Omaha data center was built to withstand tornado level winds and other natural disasters, so customers can rest assured their IT Infrastructure will maintain the highest level of availability in the market.”
Midlands Data Center was designed from the ground up to withstand the harshest weather conditions and disasters, including the ability to withstand 250mph winds. The roof of the facility has multiple layers, built out of reinforced concrete. The equipment required to run services within the building are all kept within the wind resistant walls. The Omaha based facility is considered one of the most resilient data centers in the Midwest.
The facility is also equipped with state of the art security systems, including identity verification and biometric scanning, which provides facility level compliance with many regulatory guidelines. The Midlands Data center also maintains OSHA Compliance, and was the first LEED Registered data center facility in the region, the Midlands Data Center was given Energy Star Certification in 2012.
“Cosentry has rapidly sold out the first phase of our latest generation data center in Omaha, which proves enterprise customers in both Nebraska and the broader Midwest markets are seeking a full service data center provider that can manage their mission critical IT Infrastructure,” said Derek Gillespie, Chief Sales Officer with Cosentry. “The additional capacity in Midlands will support the growth demands for our existing client base as well as help answer the call for data center services we are seeing from emerging enterprises in our markets. Our customers are telling us that their business applications require data center solutions that offer 100% availability and we have been able to deliver.”
Initial construction of the data center was completed in 2010, and was built to accommodate anticipated expansion. Cosentry will be offering pre-commissioning executive tours between now and the end of September, and the new suite will be fully commissioned by October of 2013.
