Haworth Music Brings Back the Beat With Ludwig Drums
Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- The latest news from Haworth Music Centre deserves a drum roll, with the announcement that they are now authorised Ludwig drums stockists. Endorsed by more musicians than you could shake a drumstick at, Ludwig has long been known for quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail, and deserves its reputation as The Most Famous Name on Drums.
"At Haworth, we really focus on making superior products accessible to Australian music fans. The Ludwig brand is known for its drum construction innovation and for quality materials and finishes. This new relationship with Ludwig means we can offer great drums and accessories for beginners through to professional musicians," said Glenn Haworth, the store’s general manager.
"We’re also pleased to be able to showcase the Ludwig range with an event on 18 July featuring the incredible drummer David Jones, one of Australia’s virtuoso percussionists, at our Shellharbour Music and Drum Room. I’d encourage anyone interested in seeing and hearing the depth and range of Ludwig’s products to come along and check it out," he added.
The original Ludwig company was started in Chicago, USA by the Ludwig brothers over one hundred years ago, kicking things off with an innovative bass drum pedal which could play faster beats than most pedals available at the time. The next innovation was a timpani with a hydraulic action, before expansion into other types of drums, with a focus on brass snare drums and wooden drums.
Ludwig USA drums are now all hand-made in North Carolina. The shells are made with the best cuts of prime, white American Maple, cross laminated into shell panels. The panels are stored in a climate-controlled humidor, and hand-chosen for the best match of sound and look. Two and three-ply cross-laminated pieces are cut and then bonded together using Radio Frequency Shell Technology, which means the entire surface of the shell is cured evenly. This process is a key part of the ‘Ludwig Sound’. Shells are cut to size, routed and hand-sanded inside and out before being finished and assembled with equal care.
"If it sounds like the whole process is meticulous and detailed, that’s because it is. These are iconic drums, and we’re really pleased to add them to our range, as well as Ludwig accessories like cymbal stands, pedals and drum thrones. We have full drum kits, as well as a great selection of snares," said Mr Haworth.
