Elder Scrolls Online Cross-Platform Concerns
(PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- Next year is going to be an exciting year for console gamers, pc gamers, and anyone who is a fan of the Elder Scrolls series. With the announcement that Elder Scrolls Online will be available on not only PC, but also Playstation 4 and the Xbox One, it gives everyone something to cheer about. Mostly everyone, that is.
There are still some players that are worried that ESO will stay true to the game’s integrity, especially with the addition of all these other players across different consoles. It is suggested that by having too many players in the game that it will “tarnish” the traditional Elder Scrolls gameplay that players cherish.
Concern comes from Bethesda’s decision to not make multiple servers, but rather one “mega-server” for all players to play on. Elder Scrolls Online aims to keep friends and family playing together without having to worry about one being on another server, but will this ruin the experience for other players?
Chances are, no, since ESO offers a unique instance based system that will ensure that players have the feel that they are on a single server but are still able to play with all of their friends. Still the worry remains that cross-console gaming could produce an unfair advantage from one side or another, but Bethesda is strong in its statement that everything will be on an equal playing field.
Matt Firor stated in a conversation with IGN that "As (players) use abilities (class, weapon, guild, other), they get better, and eventually (players) can morph them into more powerful versions of the base ability...There's plenty of choice -- and remember, a (players) base attack, heavy attack, and block abilities are performed with the mouse buttons or gamepad, not with the ability bar." Which helps ease thoughts that an ability bar on PC would impose an unfair advantage against console gamers.
Elder Scrolls Online is set for a Spring 2014 Release date, but nothing specific has been announced yet. Visit Elder Scrolls Online Guide for more info and stay current on all the hot things happening in ESO world.
