Stevens Water Monitoring Systems Hires Carmen Magro as Vice President of Business Development and Agronomy
Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 -- Stevens Water Monitoring Systems (Stevens Water) is proud to announce and welcome Carmen Magro as Vice President of Business Development and Agronomy. Carmen has joined Stevens Water with over twenty years of agronomy expertise and business leadership.
Formerly a golf course superintendent, Carmen has maintained his Certification status with the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America through continued dedication to the golf and sports turf markets. Carmen went on to direct the Golf Course Turfgrass Management Program and Turfgrass Research Facilities at Penn State University where he excelled at providing practical applications for addressing complicated agronomy challenges in turfgrass management. With that position, he also served as PSU's turfgrass media relations expert, providing agronomy expertise to a multitude of media avenues around the world. During his tenure he continued his studies in soil science and turfgrass nutrition. He initiated the use of new soil sensor technology in developing growing degree models and other stress models for predicting and managing turfgrass pests, and he has gone on to earn patents in his unique work.
He went on to accept a position with Floratine Products Group as their lead agronomist and director of education where he trained and supported an international sales force in fundamental agronomy applications for product positioning. Following this position, Carmen took a position as Vice President of Agronomy with UgMO Technologies, a sensor company who utilized their products in golf, sports, recreational, residential, agricultural and environmental land use industries.
Finally, Carmen founded and lead an international consulting firm called Agronomy Management Solutions, which provides consultation services for agriculture, golf, sports turf, residential and environmental land use applications.
