Derek began his career working in New York City for five years as a fashion model and photographer. In 2005, he then founded a marketing/ design company called “Brains and Butter” where he worked for two years with all ranges of clients redeveloping websites and helping to develop marketing material to brand companies and products. Renaming the company Fen Media in 2010, Derek introduced TheRisingHollywood and HighFashionMagazine to Bluefin Media.
