HealthMEDX Engages Physician Team in the Product Development Process
(PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- HealthMEDX has announced formation of a Medical Advisory Board comprised of a select group of physicians representing long term post-acute facilities, health systems and physicians who work in private practice. The Medical Advisory Board was established to provide strategic leadership and clinical expertise to the product development process by bringing together physicians with a passion for using technological innovation to enhance patient care across the care continuum. The team will focus on the HealthMEDX Care Coordination Platform that is designed to facilitate collaborative care while electronically enabling care transitions from the acute care setting to the LTPAC environment
Pamela Pure, HealthMEDX CEO, said that the board’s thought leadership will be used to help inform HealthMEDX product development prioritization, design and content development. “A cornerstone of our product development strategy is a belief that technology should make it easy for physicians to work together to deliver the highest quality of care in the right care setting. This prestigious group of physicians will provide input and feedback to accelerate our work and assure highly differentiated solutions. The goal is to use technology to improve the quality of care across the long-term post-acute care market, with an emphasis on facilitating greater care coordination across the entire acute and post-acute care continuum,” said Pure.
The Board will help shape technology strategies for products such as iCare, HealthMEDX’s innovative iOS based care coordination platform that provides physicians real time access to patient information and automates care transitions from health systems to the post-acute care provider. iCare is part of Vision, HealthMEDX’s full-featured electronic health record for the LTPAC market. Steven Stein, M.D., Chief Medical Officer of CHE Trinity Senior Living Communities and a member of the new Medical Advisory Board said “As a physician who relies on information technology to help provide patient care, it’s exciting to have a voice in the design and development of products like iCare.”
The Medical Advisory Board will also assist HealthMEDX in crafting product strategy by providing insight into emerging and evolving care delivery models. During the meeting, which was facilitated by Charles Rogers, M.D., HealthMEDX Medical Director, board members provided direction aimed at building interoperability in the health care environment, leveraging the iCare product to reduce hospital readmissions, and using technology to enhance physician rounding and medication reconciliation. Rogers said, “We are extremely fortunate to have recruited an exceptional team of physicians from a variety of settings across the acute and post-acute markets. The depth of understanding and expertise they bring to the table is invaluable as we continue to develop technology that supports new care delivery models and enables greater care coordination.”
