(PRWEB) July 17, 2013 -- The Connecticut Health Council, an association of health sector leaders who work together to promote Connecticut as a premier center for the development of businesses, initiatives, and technology that improve health care and wellness both nationally and in the State, will host the fourth in a series of six Affordable Care Act Workshops on Tuesday, July 23rd from 7:30-9:30a.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell.
The July workshop will focus on Public and Private Health Care Exchanges and their impact on Connecticut’s health insurance landscape. Featured panelists include Kevin Counihan, President and Chief Executive Officer, Access Health CT; Mickey Herbert, Consultant, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care; and Phil Vogel, Senior Vice President, CBIA. The panel will be moderated by Nadine Francis West, MetroHartford Alliance, and is designed to provide employers with a comprehensive understanding of health care exchanges. The panel will be followed by a question & answer session for attendees.
“We could hardly have a more timely presentation for our workshops than this one, featuring our new and evolving public exchange, and our state’s largest and most successful private exchange” said panelist Mickey Herbert, who is also serving as the Health Council’s interim Executive Director. “If you only attend one workshop all year, this is it”.
The Connecticut Health Council formally launched in December 2012 hosting more than 400 area healthcare and business professionals for its inaugural event. The programming and work of the Council’s Founding Partners is intended to foster collaboration among health organizations, strengthen the connections between its members, and help showcase the health assets and resources across the State.
